You will receive Iolite Faceted Chunky Rondelles -- eight inches worth of loose beads (half of a full strand) from the same lot that you see in the photos. This iolite is very rich and varied with shades ranging from the deepest violet blue, to paler lavender to almost clear and even some golden or reddish brown shades. Due to iolite's strong pleiochroism the stones will change color depending upon the angle; a stone that first appears almost clear will reveal deep violet as you turn it in the light. Some of the stones are bi colored with contrasting bands of color. Although the deep violet is perhaps the most coveted shade in this stone, these rondelles reflect the true diversity and pleochroic nature of this beautiful stone. The other striking feature of these iolite rondelles is their chunky cut, which perfectly complements their earthy appeal. The chunky- cut faceted rondelles range in size from about 4.5-6.5mm in diameter by 3.2-4.6mm thick-- you may receive one or two beads a tiny bit larger than this, but we can only promise within the size range stated above, and in any event, the majority will fall within this range.
