Andalusite is a stone for those who revel in the intricate and subtle beauty of nature. The colors range from pinky taupes, to golden browns to mossy greens. It is a pleochroic stone which means that it will display different colors when viewed in different directions. At first glance the stone may look brownish green, but if you turn it you may notice a glimmering rosy glow. Stones are translucent to transparent with natural inclusions; the inclusions are what add interest and color. Reminiscent of a walk through a mossy forest with beams of light glowing through turning leaves, as if through stained glass. There are some inclusions and surface imperfections, but the rare mix of rich colors and pleochroic properties are what make these andalusite leaves so outstanding.
